General Information

Horizon Christian Academy is a non-denominational Christian school offering Jr. Kindergarten through 6th grade classes. The school was founded in 1979, as a ministry of Horizon Christian Fellowship (HCF), serving Horizon families and those who affirm the same goals and beliefs as HCF. Through the years, the school has established a reputation for its academic and spiritual excellence.

HCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin. We offer a traditional school year program (September through June). All teachers are educated and dedicated born-again Christians with a call to minister.

GRADE PLACEMENT

Based on our assessment results, prior report card grades, standardized test scores, IEP's, and/or outside professional evaluations, the administration will recommend grade placement based on our program. Acceptance into our school may require parental agreement for placement on Watch & Consult status, enrollment in the Power Learning Program (PLP), conditional acceptance, or probation. Jr. K-1st graders MUST meet our age requirements as follows:

Jr. K - Child’s 5th birthday between September 1st and December 2nd
Kindergarten - Child’s 5th birthday before September 1st
1st Grade - Child’s 6th birthday before September 1st

Although HCA does not officially stipulate an age requirement for entrance into grades 2 or above, students transferring to HCA, who would not have previously met our age requirements as indicated above, may not necessarily qualify for placement in the grade requested by the parent/guardian.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to and the peace of God, which surpass God;es all nderstanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus,” Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV).

HCA does NOT accept requests from parents/guardians or students for specific teachers or to match up one particular child with another. Many factors are taken into consideration before the class lists are published in August. Our administration & faculty pray fervently each year for God's divine direction in the placement of your child(ren). Please understand and accept that the final decision on classroom assignments rests with the administration and remains in effect for the duration of the school year.
